GED Graduates Celebrate Print E-mail

RockBOCESGrads102209Thirty-nine students from Rockland BOCES and Rockland County celebrated the completion of diploma requirements during the past academic year on Thursday, October 15th when they were awarded their GED at a graduation ceremony at BERC in Nyack. Student speaker Ashanti Hubbard spoke to the audience about the challenges she faced on her way to earning her GED.  She said that the support she received from the BOCES staff combined with the support she got from her family, enabled her to stay focused on her goal of achieving the GED.  She is currently working as a Teaching Assistant at Rockland BOCES Jesse Kaplan School. Adult education Supervisor Albert Moschetti reminded the graduates that the GED is a gateway to higher education whether it is college or technical training.

If you or someone you know wants to become a GED graduate, check out program and services at Rockland BOCES Adult Education , or any of the programs listed in HVCP's Adult Education Directory (see left-hand column, Find Resources).
