Welcome

Professional Development Groups (PDGs) are learning communities devoted to the improvement of the teaching and learning through sustained, continuing professional development. Participants make a two to three year commitment to in-depth study, engagement and practice in a particular area of adult education. During that time, participants do the following:

  1. participate in face-to-face workshops and training led by national or NYS approved trainers (2-3/program year)
  2. participate in regular webinars (6-8/program year)
  3. contribute to online learning community using social networking and blogs
  4. maintain a Project Folder and project blog (log of activities)

PDG outcomes

Participants upon completion of PDG project:

  1. demonstrate change in instructional or administrative practice
  2. create curricula or lesson plans, individually or as part of a group
  3. mentor or coach colleagues
  4. become workshop leaders and presenters
